14"x34" $89	Percula, Pink & Spinecheek Clownfish This Percula Clownfish (Amphiprion percula) is living among this very unusual deep purple color variation of the Giant Anemone (Stichodactyla mertensii). The Pink Clownfish (Amphiprion perideraion) is living in association with this brilliant red color phase of the Magnificent Sea Anemone (Heteractis magnifica) while the Spinecheek Clownfish (Premnas biaculeatus) is living among the very unusual bleached white tentacles of the Bulb Tentacle Sea Anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor). These photos represent three different species of Clownfish and three different and very unusual color forms of anemones. They were all photographed in Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea. Anemones get their color from symbiotic algae or Zooxanthellae that live within them. During a short spell of higher than normal water temperatures, these anemones began to expel the Zooxanthellae and dramatically change in color from a brownish hue to brilliant reds, then purples, and eventually pale white. This dramatic color change lasted just a few days. All Clownfish or Anemonefish live in close association with anemones and mature as males, with all females being sex-reversed males. Sex and growth is determined by the presence of a mature female.	8"x28" $58
